Unexpected medical issues can feel overwhelming! We understand how stressful these moments are. Our goal at WAVES is to move quickly, keep you informed, and provide the highest level of care when it matters most.

When to Come In Immediately

Emergency services are available! No appointment needed.

Any of the following are reasons to call or come in to see us for an emergency visit:

Ingestion of toxins, poisonous plants, or household medications
Ingestion of foreign material
Weakness/changes in alertness
Pain, discomfort, or lameness
Straining to urinate
Distended or bloated abdomen
Persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or non-productive retching
Difficulty delivering kittens or puppies
Exposure to high temperatures
Bleeding
Hit by car
Fall from height
Changes to oral gum color
Difficulty breathing
Allergic reaction (hives, facial swelling, severe itching or red eyes)
Exposure to any chemicals
Weakness/changes in alertness
Seizures, loss of balance, and inability to walk
Trembling or shaking
Bite wounds from other animals
Broken bones
Behavior changes or actions that just don’t feel right in your mind

How Patients Are Prioritized

If your pet is showing signs like trouble breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, seizures, collapse, severe injury, extreme lethargy, or anything that feels urgent or out of the ordinary, don’t wait – seek emergency care right away. Trust your instincts, if something feels wrong, it’s worth having your pet evaluated.

What Happens When You Get Here

Upon arrival, your pet will be evaluated by our medical team, and we’ll walk you through next steps, treatment options, and timing. We aim to keep you updated throughout the process so you always know what to expect.
